OOO UniFence, a subsidiary of Severstal-metiz, has put into service a new line in Italy to make zinc-coated and HDP-coated mesh structures.
The equipment was installed within the framework of a large-scale investment project to increase production in response to growing market demand. The new Italian line is an [upgraded analog – not sure what this means?] of the line purchased by Severstal-metiz in 2000 which has been updated to meet the Company's requirements. It will operate in combination with the new unit producing hexagonal mesh and the new extrusion machine producing polymer-coated wire.
Alexey Pakhotin, Director of UniFence commented:
"Thanks to the new equipment, we will be able, on the one hand, to increase the output of products demanded by the market and, on the other hand, fulfill orders much faster due to decreasing the time outlays required for readjustment, lowering production time and reducing the amount of manual operations required for the assembly of mesh structures."
